This week the OFF3R Celebrity Investors Series looks at American West Coast rapper, Snoop Dogg.

Famously known for his chart-topping music and liberal views on Marijuana, it may not come as a shock that Snoop Dogg set up a cannabis focused venture capital fund. The fund partnered with businesses such as Uber-style weed delivery start-up Eaze and Canadian cannabis company, Canopy Growth Corp. Bloomberg reported after the rapper unveiled a line of marijuana products in October 2016, the share price of Canadian cannabis companies soared. [1] As the Marijuana industry matures and attracts more traditional capital it’ll be a fascinating space to watch unroll. Snoop Dogg has lit a bowl that he hopes, others with influence, will be drawn to. With weed stocks on fire, the rapper is reportedly keen to get other celebs on board, such as chef and seasoned businesswoman Martha Stewart. However, Stewart says that she isn’t planning to invest just yet. [2]

Snoops investments are not purely focused on the cannabis industry. He has also invested into one of the world’s leading online content sites Reddit, sports conversation app GameOn and a number of other companies, according to the rappers investment manager, Nick Adler. [3]
